INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY:2019-20

AIR FORCE SCHOOL JALAHALLI has celebrated the International Yoga day on 21st June19, along with the students, teachers and Principal participating in different yoga practices and asanas to promote overall development in both the mental and the physical health. a large number of students, staff members along with Principal took part in the session with great passion and enthusiasm.The students of class I – X, teachers along with principal performed Yoga between 9 am and 10:30 am. The special assembly was a beautiful array of beautiful yogic postures, interesting information about the benefits of yoga and an interactive session .The student’s and teachers were enlightened on the importance of Yoga and how it is helps to maintain not only physical and mental health but also a healthy social life. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried out every day.Yoga gives an amazing balance to life. It makes one peaceful inside and dynamic outside and at the same time it makes us appreciate the finer things in life, appreciate the diversity that is there in the world around us, and yet to be in harmony. Yoga makes one very skillful and brings lot of energy. The students and teachers were taught various Aasanas starting with warming up and stretching followed by the series of Padmasana, Paschimottasans, PawanMuktasana, Vajrasana, Dhanurasana, Chakrasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Bhujangasana, finally ended with Pranayama and meditation. Prayers were also recited before and after the programme, it concluded with the pledge– For Longevity. Addressing the students and teachers on the occasion, the Principal appealed to include yoga in their daily routine for its wholesome and salubrious effects on the mind, body and soul. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Children got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. The school is thankful to CBSE for initiating this and also for inculcating Yoga as a part of the syllabus.

Yoga session was conducted by Yoga teacher Mr.Divakar Joshi and culminated with the following pledge;

“I commit myself always to be in a balanced state of mind. It is in this state that my highest self development reaches its greatest possibility.

I commit to do my duty o self, family,at work, to society and to the world for promotion of peace healthy and harmony”.
